New transferring students must pass oral and written tests in either Mandarin or Cantonese by the office of instructional affairs. Not applicable to CSL students. Those who have completed elementary school overseas ( in countries with Mandarin or Cantonese as official language) will not be admitted as their proficiency in Chinese already exceed the highest curriculum level offered at Palo Alto Chinese School. The admission of student is based on the class notice issued by the school. Palo Alto Chinese School has the authority to make any modification or changes. Parents or students have no right to choose or switch class. The above amendments will become effective October 19, 2001. The minimum admission age to Kindergarten class is 5 years old. Starting year 2009, "Intro Mandarin Class" will be offered to students between the ages of 4-6 years old. Based on the student's performance and parent's wish entrance to next school year's Kindergarten or CSL class may be granted. Starting 2008 school year, Palo Alto Chinese School has formally added "Chinese Calligraphy Class" to the Cultural Art Program. The classes are available in "Parent-Child Sessio" from 6:00pm and "Adult Session" from 7:00p. Palo Alto Chinese School students, teachers and parents/legal guardians have priority registration privilege. All Cultural Art programs shall comply with standard Palo Alto Chinese School policies.
